Week 89

Sunday dinner on the roof!  Sooo good!

well, this week has been full of spiritual impressions and it has been pretty awesome!! one experience that I wanted to share was when my comp and i were getting ready to take a bus back to another part of our area, my comp looked at me and said, "we got to go to Ruthbert's."  when i saw his eyes, I had no doubt that it was what we had to do! so we followed the spirit and went, to our suprise we found him and his mom home!  his mom is less active and he is not a member! it was an amazing lesson that we were able to share!  the spirit prompted us to teach about how she can rely on the Savior with her problems.   she explained to us how she needed exactly that and wants to come back to church! its amazing to be an instrument in the Lords hands.  He always guides us and helps us! I love this gospel and know that if we are worthy we will have the constant companionship of the Holy Spirit!
He's not smile here, but he was sooo happy!

oh ok funny story!ª!!
one night we were getting on the bus and right when i stepped up to get on, I didn't get my foot on the step all the way and i slipped and biffed it hard on the bus!!! hjahahaha I was just getting on the bus with style and made everyone laugh so that was all good :) that's my funny embarrassing story for this week!!!

Week 88

(Baptism of this little sweet heart!)

this week was another great week for the books!  i love when we work hard the Lord blesses us, but its usually after the trial of faith, like it says in Ether.  i know thats true!  if we keep our covenants, He always blesses us! this week we have had a ton of fun, teaching the families and helping them remember their covenants, by following the spirit.
Yesterday we got the chance to teach a member family that is progressing a ton! they are starting to attend church and come closer to the Lord. The lesson was kinda hard with them... the mom was being a bit stubborn and didn't feel like she could get better! she said she didn't know where to start or what to do... but we weren't alone, the Spirit was with us and whispered to us saying, "what am i missing?" and that was it! there was a talk, that the Authority challenged us to ask God in a humble prayer, "what am i missing?"  or in other words "what can i do better"?  we told her that as the spirit prompted us along the way and she opened up! She needed to ask "what I'm i missing or could do better"... she came to understand that that was exatly what she needed to do and she promised to do it! ASK
i know that if we follow the spirit, it will give us the answer to our prayers, we will always know what to say, do, and where to go! He is always there to help and guide us! Do your work and stay worthy of his presence! it was a cool experience to see how she brightened up and how it clicked in her head what to do! now its up to her too do her part! like it says in 2 Nephi, "cheer up your hearts and remember that ye are free to act for yourselves."  we are free to act and thats enough reason to cheer up and choose the right always!

Week 87

Well this week was a blast! we have been having a ton of fun here Elder Franco and I! we are working hard and trying our best to help the people of this ward! this week my comp and i learned something really cool that we have shared with multiple families in FHE (family home evenings)! it is about Nephi´s Ship, in 1Nephi 17 and 18, Nephi was sent to build a ship by the Lord and with all the murmuring of his brothers he still did it and he even did it, "after the manner of the Lord" not after the manner of men.  we looked at this story, with the huge storm and waves that were beating down on the boat, the boat never broke! Nehpi was busy dealing with his brothers who were rebelling against him and had no time or way to handle the boat. they were pushed back many days and struggled a ton, but thanks to the faith and prayers of the faithful on the ship, Nephi was able to pray and calm the storm.  the crazy thing is that nothing happend to the ship! we started to think about that and compared the ship to Life or even our homes! we taught about, how "well" built is our ship? And what would make a good strong ship and this is what we came up with,
1. the Atonement
2. The Holy Spirit
3. The scriptures
4. Prayer
5. Faith
6. The Sacrement
7. Service!
we feel that if we can make our ship strong with these things, we will be able get on board and sail all the way safely to the promised land! it won't matter how bad the storm that we face or how tall the waves, the ship will always be strong and firm and won't  let us sink to the bottom! With faith, we can overcome all things.
Just think, what is my ship made of? how can i make it stronger? and do it so you can be ready to face any storm!!!
Family home evening with these awesome people!!!

Week 86

(My new comp Elder Franco and our awesome Ward mission leader and family! )
what a week! i got my new comp, Elder Franco.  we have worked really hard this week and we are getting along great!!  he works hard and helps me get better! i feel like i am getting to a new level of comprehension of the scriptures and my testimony is growing even stronger!! loves this guy! we are looking hard to find new people and move upward!  he is talkative so thats fun, we never have a dull moment!
To top off a great week, we got to listen to General Conference! you cant get any better than that!  one talk that really moved me was when the presiding bishop Elder Waddell noted about the people in Lehi`s dream (1 Nephi 8) who some had tasted and some partook of the fruit.  when he explained how the people that tasted of the fruit were ashamed because of those that made fun of them, they fell away "and were lost".  but he also brought up those who partook of the fruit; they didn't fall away, better yet they "heeded them not."  this honestly taught me a huge lesson and made me think, am I just tasting the fruit or partaking of it? am i believing in what i am doing, as Sister Bonnie L. Oscarson said in conference, or do i just know it? it touched me soo deep that i have began to try and recognize why i do the things i do.  i want to strive to partake and believe in everything i do and i know that if i do this, i will be closer to my Father in Heaven. I am so grateful to have leaders that can pick out the little details to help us come closer to our Heavenly Father. i know that The Prophet Thomas S. Monson is the living prophet of God here on earth and through his teachings we can grow stronger in faith. i know that our leaders in the church really love us for who we are and who we can become! this is the true church of Jesus Christ and i testify of that in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Funny story: yesterday we were walking at night in the rain and i was talking on the phone to our ward mission leader and my comp was like, "watch out its gonna splash you," and i wasn't focused and i just stayed in the same spot and he said it again, "watch out dude its gonna splash you!" and then SPLASH!!! hahahaha all over my left leg! a truck drove by and splashed me bad with a ton of water! I guess thats what i get for not paying attention to my comp for a split second! moral of the story, DONT GET DISTRACTED or your nice leather shoes and slacks will get soaked!!! hahaha
(Rain coat!!)
Love you all!! have a great week!

Ps.  Dad, i just want to tell you thank you for all of your sacrifices and hard work that you have done for me. when Elder Christoferson talked about fathers, i just thought about you the whole time! you are the best example I  could ask for in love and support that you   give to mom all the time! that is one the biggest things that i value of your huge example, your love for my mother.  i am striving to be more like Christ and i know that you are a great guide to help me exceed the limits of society! thank you dad. i love you.
