Week 76

This week was great!!! Elmer was baptized! he is soo happy and doing soo good with his testimony! It's been a great blessing that God has given us to be able to teach Elmer and see his progression, as a son of God.
We had a cool experience with an inactive family, it was only the dad and daughter, but we taught them a lesson and the spirit guided us all the way through!  The lesson was about the family and the importance of being an example to his family.  He said, yeah its like a team of soccer players, if only two want to work and the others don't, you won't win! we felt that we should compare it to Captain Moroni, who always was working for his army and his people. He always trusted in God, and thats why he had success. we shared the scripture in Alma 60:36 that talks about moroni`s purpose it says,
36 Behold, am Moroni, your chief captain. seek not for power, but to pull it down. seek not for honor of the world, but for the glory of my God, and the freedom and welfare of my country. And   thus close mine epistle.
He did what he did because he loved God and the people he served! We invited him to put his name where it says Moroni and family where it say country, and this was powerful! it was a great spirit filled lesson! i testify that if we put God first, the "our team" will win and we will be able to work out the problems/challenges that may come! I know this church is true and i know that families can be together forever as a championship team!

Week 75 Time is Flying!!!

This week we were working our butts off and gosh the time just goes by in the blink of an eye!   I really cant believe it, but what are we gonna do....Work and just gotta keep truckin!

We had an eventful week for sure.  We had a really good lesson with Elmer. He started having a doubt if the church really was the true church.  We talked to him for a while to help him, but didn't seem to be getting anywhere.  Then we had an accompanying teen with us that day and he had the thought that we should kneel down and pray.  So of course, we did it!! He said on of the most powerful prayers i have ever heard from an investigator!! He really wanted to know and after his prayer he felt the peace and comfort.  This is the comfort that comes when the spirit bares witness to the people of the truth, and he got his answer! it was amazing! thanks to the spirit and the kid with us we were able to help him know:) He will be baptized on Saturday at 5, we are pumped!!! it was a great experience and his determination was very cool!
(Fhe with two great families!!)
Then now to laugh a little, i have been on a streak of breaking things this week.... first, as we walked in the house i reached to turn the light on and i knocked over the mirror and BOOM shattered!!! gosh dang i felt bad...... but thats not all!!! i tried to tossed the phone to my comp and magically the phone flew to the roof and slammed to the ground!!! and SHATTERED!! hahaha but thats not all!!!! then we were playing with the 12 year old grandson of our pension and i went all hulk on him and lifted the chair over my head and BOOM light bulb shattered!!! Yeah, i haven't had much luck this last week sadly... but this week i will try to be more careful hahaha ;)
well pray for me so i don't break anything else!!

love you all!! have a great week!!

Week 74

wow! What a week... i don't even know what to share with you guys, so much has happened! But I'll just share a couple quick stories....
First story:  we are teaching a 17year old boy named Elmer.  He has had a strong desire to follow the way of the Lord, and has been investigating the church for a long time, but has never been baptized.  We have been teaching him this week,  as we were talking about a simple topic in the gospel i had a strong feeling to ask him to be baptized, so i stopped where i was and asked! guess what he said?  No!  He said he didn't feel ready and was kinda scared. So we comforted him and let him know that sometime change is scary and when a feeling like that happens, it means he needs to pray to be prepared and ready. we started to explain to him that with baptism he will be cleaned and born again!   We testified and know that the spirit had touched his heart in that moment. What's great is that he came to understand, not by words, but by the feeling he had and he said yes!  Now that he has had his answer,  he is more excited than ever! He felt the spirit and that's what opened his heart! Not our words or examples, but the spirit of truth that testified to him! It was an amazing experience! He is very excited to better his life and follow Chirst!
Munoz!! Great guy!!!
Second story (funny one):  my comp and i went into a back ally one night, just to see what was there.  We could barely see that there was a field with a wall about chest high all the way around it. We turned around to look at the houses and as we turned back around my comp screamed sooooooo loud, there was a guy that just appeared out of now were in the field on the other side of the wall.  He said, "what do you want?" in a really deep voice and we were like, "ummmm nothing just looking at the nice field!" hahaha the funny thing was that it was pitch black dark outside and you couldn't even see the field!!   we ran away like little girls! it was Hilarious, i have never heard a man scream like my comp did that night! haha good times!

1.Plans for today are hair cuts and playing games with the zone.
2.  My comp has been out about 4 months.

Love you guys!!! have a great week!
We are going to make it a weekly tradition to make our pensions family breakfast ever Sunday!  French toast and Colombian eggs (eggs, onion, tomatoes)

Week 73

There are lots of instruments in this world, from Trumpets to drumbs, computers,  knife for a doctor, a drill from a construction worker, and etc! they all have there purpose in there moment and when used they make everything work for that person! but think about this for a second, are you an Instrument in the Lords hands? I know that we are striving to be!!  sometimes it doesn't seem like we are being successful at it, but through us miracles can happen in the lives others, they change and feel the power of a faithful follower of Christ.  this week we taught a boy who didnt believe in God when he started listening to the missionaries, but little by little he Started to change! Throughout this week we have taught him and now he is praying and searching to know! when we taught him, we felt the spirit working through us! it as amaizng to see in his eyes the feelings he is having! we have planned to do a Church tour with him to help him feel the power of the Holy Spirit even stronger! we fell really strongly that it will help him and we pray it will for sure!  that experience helped me understand more of how we really are "the middle men" in all of HIS work! HE guides us, HE leads us and HE touches the hearts of the people, but if we don't do anything there is no progression! so we gotta get up, lace up the shoes and hit the Spiritual court and play the biggest game of all time, the game of salvation! We are all instruments, trust in God and just do it!  I am here on this mission because I have felt the feeling that this boy is looking for.  Its a feeling of peace, comfort, surety that the things that i am doing are correct.  I have felt strongly in my heart the influence of the Holy Spirit, and that feeling is what i want EVERYONE to feel. True happiness and Joy only comes from the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ, Try it!!
