Week 63

WEEK OF FUN

Great family from 15 de agusto
My old pension!!! She is the best!!
Cleaning the font before the baptisms!
Comp after cleaning the font.

Well this week we have had a good time! Worked hard and had two baptisms, Franco and Emerson!  It was amazing too see the progression of these guys, growing and finding the happiness in the restored gospel! We didn’t get the chance to confirm them, cause there was stake conference, but next Sunday they are both planned to receive the Holy Ghost! We are very grateful for the blessings that we are receiving from our obedience!

Franco's baptism

One thing that really impacted me this week was the testimony Emerson gave after his baptism.  He bore his testimony with such power and clarity that it brought tears to the eyes of many!  He filled the room with the spirit! He told us that for a long time he hadn’t received his answer about the church, but kept praying and looking! He then said, “Then I realized that the whole time I had my answer, its all of you, you have all helped me.”  He continued telling us how we were always there for him and that God was guiding him through the members and the missionaries.  It was powerful! He got it, he understood and that’s why he made the correct decision! It was a big testimony builder for me!

I found that sometimes, we just need to step back In order to really see our answers! If we are looking with a magnifying glass, it will take forever to scan a whole field for the needle but if we fly over with a plane may be able to see the shimmer of the needle and know where it is! Just take the time to look and analyze your life and you will find blessings that seem hidden but really are just there waiting to be seen.  This Testimony of Emerson helped me to find the small blessings and understand that the Lord is always blessing us, try it!

Week 62

(I love this place!!!)

(Grass an elder bought!! Pretty sick huh? Love the feeling of grass!)
( the city lights)
This week was pretty dang soild! as a companionship we taught with the spirit and we saw the people changing. We walked rigorously all day, fighting too help the people in the fight of life, sitting and sharing the testimonies of two kids with nineteen years of age. But for what? We Don't get money for this, we don't get cool cars or gifts; we do it so that we can see the people change and enter the way of God. We do it because we have found the happiness and we cant bare the fact that others don't have it here too! We love this Gospel, and would do anything for it because we KNOW its true.  But We   aren't the ones that change the people, we are just the messengers, the Spirit of God is the one that Changes them, that shows them the light and that helps them feel in their hearts. we are just here to bring the spirit to them, and thats what we have worked hard to do! the people felt it this week, they have changed and have come to know that it is the truth!  We are teaching about 15 people, some are progressing faster then others, but all are worth the effort!   We had a bunch of people that were planned to come to church that told us, "ya for sure we will be there" but the sad thing was that no one showed up!!  this really hurt us.. What were we doing wrong???  we got really down on ourselves... we were spiritually drained and hurt; we were being tried... and tried hard... but when we went to our room before lunch,we laid   down and thought and refelcted on what had happened at church. As I did this the  overwhelming feeling of sadness took over me!   I looked to my right and saw the picture of Christ with his hand reached out at me and it came to my mind to read the scripture D&C 122:5-9 thats says,  "know thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good." and that "The Son of Man hath descended below them all. Art thou greater than he?"

Therefore, hold on thy way, and the priesthood shall remain with thee; for their bounds are set, they cannot pass. Thy days are known, and thy years shall not be numbered less; therefore, fear not what man can do, for God shall be with you forever and ever."  In that moment, i was filled with the spirit of peace and calmness, that helped me so much! we got up not knowing what was going to happen next but i felt good! the Lord comforted me in my time of need.

So the day was not all sadness, we did have two people come to church that we didn't expect... To our surprise one of the people that came to church with out our teachings in the week was named emerson.  He invited us to come to his house, when we arrived he asked us, "so i have been thinking and how do i do the baptism thing?" AHHHHHH the Lord blessed us in that moment with more peace and happiness that we couldn't believe what was happening!! we were so happy!! he will be baptized this Saturday! we are visiting him everyday at 6 am and he is so amazing!

I testify that the Lord blesses us in HIS time, we just have to have faith and keep going hard because all of it is for our experience! this is the true church and the true Gospel of Jesus Christ!!  i love this Gospel! i love my Savior! and i love all of you!

Week 61

What a week!!! wow we did sooo much in so little time!! we had meetings with stake presidents, the mission president,  a leadership counsel, and a district meeting, had to fill out lots of paper work and lots of other stuff!!! its been pretty crazy with a lot on our plates, but its fun and keeps us busy!!!  we make the best out of it!!

EXPERIENCE this week!!!  Well, we had a first lesson yesterday with a lady, right off the bat, she was like, "how do i get baptized, can i do it this Saturday?"  We were like, ummm YES YOU CAN!!! hahahaha so we are teaching her everyday and going to baptize her this weekend!! she already has a really strong testimony and knows the church is true, just needs to take the step of baptism!! she comes to church alone and is sooo ready!!! its awesome, working hard and loving this work :)
So a thought....
so what happens when a quarter back yells on an audible, "BLUE 49 BLUE 49" but the Line Men hear "BLUE 29 BLUE 29"?  well the line men go out on a  screen block when its a run to the right, where the line men should go left...  BOOM lights out!
Well, this is a dramatic example of bad  communication but one thing that we have found this week is that communication is a huge part of making things work. we have to know what is going to happen before it happens and trust in the person at our side. At the ending of this week,  my comp and i talked and found things we need to get better at and that is the communication with each other in and before lessons.  This is key to success!!! if you want to avoid arguments and disputes you need to have good communication! My comp and i have found how God communicates and it has helped us a lot in all of the things we do! i promise if you strive to communicate better with the people by your side you will see less arguments, more happy times and better results!! BE CLEAR AND DIRECT, but at the same time loving and understanding!  its amazing what things you can find to get better at when you just sit down and talk! we have no problems what so ever as a companionship, but we can always get better and this is something we can get better at in order to be more  successful.  We can all apply this to our lives in some manner.... Better communication is a great place to start to better ourselves.
Our ward now has four elders in it, elder Gessel and Santana are with us!
