Week 46

My new llama sweater! Sweet huh!?

    well it has been a week of hard work and lots of love! 

we have been working super hard this week to find new people without much luck... but with patience thats all! we are actually super happy here in our area! the ward is so lovable and helpful! we have been visiting lots of elderly and all the converts of the last 24 months! its super fun to visit, play, and feel the love that the people have for the missionaries! its really a special feeling! they always help us and tell us about their friends, so that we could visit.  The best thing is they always want to give us food, its awesome!   so many times we feel its just the investigators and less actives, but who will be here with them for longer time?! THE MEMBERS! haha so you guys are the core of happiness and success! It is the best feeling when you feel that you have helped them know that they are always remembered! 

i love this work and this Gospel and my savior and all of you! 

    this week i taught about potential to my district, i had a box of cake mix and i told them, " what is the potential of this box?" and they said that it could be a delicious cake! and i said ya it has the potential of being a super good cake but we have to MAKE IT!! we all have the potential, to be a big boss, or a professional soccer player, or the worlds smartest man, or the hardest worker, or a leader, or a good dad, you can do it all! but like the cake you gotta MAKE IT!  put everything on the line, work even if your head says you cant, get up when you wanna sleep, run when you wanna walk, and be happy when you wanna be sad! dont let anything or anyone tell you that you cant, because YOU CAN! as a missionary, no one forces me to do what i do, i chose to be here, i chose to hurt, i chose to cry, i chose to be a serevant of MY Savior because i know that i have the potential to do it!  ya it may seem hard and slow and hot and tiring during the run but when you come to the finish line and you take the cake out of the oven and it smells soooo good, you will never look back and say, "why did i do that?" you will go to your knees and pray to your Father in Heaven and say, "thank you for that challenge."  it might be hard to see your potential right now but i will give you a hint on what YOUR potential is.......  YOU CAN BE LIKE CHRIST!! you can do it! you just have to MAKE IT! keep pushing! be happy and always thank your Father in Heaven for the hardships and happy times that he has blessed you with!   YOU CAN DO IT!! your God knows you can, so do it!! be the best you can be, serve the people around you and be like Christ. follow his example and you will see things change around you and even IN you! i promise and testify of this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen

Week 45

The best pension in all of Peru!!! 

(Last weeks adventure in pday miniature golfing) 

Well this week has been great!!!  we have been working hard and finding new people! the people here are super lovable and caring! well, ya there are a few farts thats don't like us but thats life...haha! We are here to love them, so thats all we can do! we have talked to lots of people, helped people feel the love of their Savior and the love from us!

we also got some time to do service this week! Man, I have missed doing service! we haven't done a lot here, cause they just don't seem to need it, like in Moquegua!  so we pulled buckets of sand up a wall to put them on the second floor and then the next morning we got to help a pregnant lady move her kitchen up to the 2nd floor in a different house!  It was awesome doing service, it reminds me how much I truely missed the feeling you get when you're helping others!! 

    This week members of the first presidency dedicated the temple of Trujillo, Peru.  that is something I will never forget, it was very special and an experience of a life time!! for those of you that maybe don't understand, the temple is a sacred place that not everyone can enter. it is a house of God, in that building is the closest we can be too heaven on this earth! it is amazing! i am so grateful for temples, and the many that we have in this world!!  with the temple we can save the people that have passed on before us! Isnt that a great blessing?! i am so happy to be a member of the true church! I look forward to when I will be closer to a temple someday! 

Trujillo Temple 

Every Tuesday I teach a lesson to our district... This is a pic of the coolest district meeting ever! i had them do a nerf war and protect thier investigators!! haha it was a lesson on love! 

  Today for Pday we are going to eat pizza at papa johns and then we are gonna go play soccer on a grass field:D ahhh i am soooo pumped!!! its gonna be awesome!!!  but ya so as you can see i am super excited....grass.... It feels sooo good!  (The simple things... haha)

Week 44 Power of the Priesthood

Well this week we have had some experiences that are truly beautiful.  But first let me explain what the title means; Priesthood.  The power of the Priesthood is the God given power the we have here on the earth, through this power we have the ability to bless the sick and afflicted, give blessings of counsel and baptism in the name of our Saviors Jesus Christ.  this power was given to the apostles of Jesus Christ when he was on the earth, with this power they worked their Miracles! when all of apostles died there was no priesthood power on the earth!  for a very long time there was lots of confusion and sadness, because the true church of Chirst was lost.  But one day in the year 1820 a young 14 year old boy named Joseph Smith wanted to know which of all the churches was the true church of Christ.  So he went to a grove of trees and prayed with all the faith that he had. Because of that humble pray it was reveled to him 2 personages, God the Father and his son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith was told by them that none of the churches on the earth has the fulness of the gospel.  Through Joseph Smith the Priesthood was restored on the earth once again and the Gospel Of Jesus Christ was brought back in its true form and fulness. 

   I testify of this experience because i have prayed on my knees like Joseph, i have cried unto my father in heaven with all the faith that i had and I HAVE RECEIVED MY ANSWER; that This IS the true church and we have this power on the earth today.  This is what I teach each day!!! It is true and I can truely testify of that! 

this week we have the opportunity to bless many people with the gift and power from God.  The spirit helps us and guides us to say the things that the Lord wants us to say.  It is truly an amazing experience every time. The peace that is felt is amazing. 

   i am grateful to be a worthy holder of this power, to use it in the name of my Savior. I have that power and every worthy man that is part of the Church of Jesus Christ has it too. Bless your families. 

 We have a had a super fun time getting to know the members better! this week we worked really hard! we are visiting more members and helping them out and they are giving us references and so thats super cool! we are having great relationships with the members, I love it sooo much!!!  the sisters in my district had a baptism and that was super good too! then on sunday we had ward conference and so that was super good! the members here in this ward and so awesome!! i love it!

something that we have found is that every person here loves Chuño...... its a dried potatoes that is only here.... it is like the smell of manure but in a taste!!! hahah its nasty but somthing funny that they always say when we say its nasty is, " have you tried it with cheese and eggs?" and i always say "no, but its still chuño. with cheese wont change my mind!!" hahaha its super funny! i always try it! i say to my self, "maybe it will be good this time.." but nope it never is!

Week 43

Arequipa! Love it!!!

well my lovely friends and family, i have to say the mission life is the way to go! its such a party! i am being serious when i say that, the mission changes lives! some one that doesn't like to talk becomes talkative, the prideful become humble, and the weak become strong! you can say that the mission has a part to do with that, but really its only a small part of it, the real changer is the Gospel of our Savior Jesus Christ, if we push ourselves to live the gospel of Christ with exactness we will change for the better! i have seen it in the people here, in the other missionaries and in myself! it might seem difficult (because it is,) but no one ever said anything was easy! I think of it this way, you go to work out at the gym for and hour and you come out dead, you pushed yourself further than you thought, harder then you ever thought you could and it hurt to walk out of the gym. what comes of it? just páin? no the thing that comes is Gain! if you want to be big, you work your butt off! Same thing goes with the gospel, if you want to be big spiritually, work your butt off to do it! when you do all that you can you will find blessings, miracles and happiness in the end, it all seems hard but the blessing are much great than the work that we have put in! i testify of that! PUT in the HARD WORK spiritually and physically! You WILL see results!!!

this week we have put a lot of work in! we have knocked tons of doors and have found tons of people!!! i promise and testify that if we put in the work, walk all day, pray harder than ever and pray to find answers, we will find the answers that we need! i promise! 

i am sorry its short this week but i am running out of time!  i know this is the true church, and you all can know too through a humble prayer!! i love you all!! have a wonderful week and WORK YOUR BUTT OFF!! haha

Week 42

The best zone!!

Holy cow this change (6weeks) flew by sooooo fast!!! now we are in a new change with new chances!! we had a great week helping all the people we could and having a good time!  this area is seriously amazing! the people are so loving and help us a ton! we worked a lot with Oliver this week preparing him for his baptism on saturday! we have done lots of fun activities with him, a bbq, lots of lessons, and he has made friends and is always with the guys in the church!  they have helped him a ton! he had some obstacles to overcome, but with the faith he has, it was possible! now he is calm, happy and clean! He really is the best! now our goal is the temple, because the temple is the goal for all of us!! 

we had a great goodbye party for Hermana Garcia! it was sad cause she is a super fun to have in the zone and in my district! I know she will be successful in life! At the party we played uno, ate cake and shared a good time together as a zone! it was awsome! 

Then on Thursday we had a sweet family home evening!!! we taught about Samuel the lamanite, and the faith that he had to go up on the wall and say the things that God wanted him too! I have to say that  sometimes its hard to have faith when things are hard, but i testify that when we do what God wants and we climb the wall and say what he wants, we will be protected! the arrows and rocks wont hit us! we will have the spirit of God with us for ever! i hope that you all take the time to read that story! its in the Book of Mormon in Helaman chapters 13 to 16! its amazing!! Then for an activity we made a bunch of paper rocks and arrows and Sookhoo got on my shouldersand all   the people there threw stuff at us!! it was super fun, I loved it and the message of faith and bravery was super strong! 

Then on Friday we played soccer with the ward and with our investigators!ª it was awesome!! they are good!! hahah Saturday we did a bbq with Oliver and a family from the ward! it was yummy! then we had his amazing baptism that night! his testimony is so strong and he will be a strong instrument in the hands of the Lord!! it was a great time for sure!!

There is a few changes in my district! Hermana Guzman got her new comp, Hermana Menlove and elder Perez got his new comp, Elder Chavez! its gonna be fun to get to know them all!! i love you all sooo much!! thank you for your prayers and support!!
